congregation. However, pursuant to consistent engagement, I see a need for a clear understanding of the philosophy which informs the life and witness of the youth department. In other words, why does the Youth department exist? What is the main motive for your ministry engagements? Is it Fellowship? Is it Mission? What is

it?
From my observation, most youth related ministry engagements these days are largely inwardly focused. And while that, in and of itself is not wrong, it ought not to remain there. God in Christ has called all of us to become and to be his disciples. But how will the world know that we are his
disciples? Is it not when we demonstrate sacrificial love for God and the people of God in God’s world? And you will agree that such conviction will of necessity commit you as young adults to focus also on the wellbeing of others.
So we commend the youth for their ministry efforts over the years and invite them at this time to
make much of a needful programme in Christian Education to be rolled out soon as a part of the mission to aid in the reaffirming of our identity. A commitment to Christian Education can help our youth leaders to learn again how to become more like Christ and assist them in reconnecting with some unique features of our Baptist
identity. renew

Smile awhile and give your face a rest
Often times the pressures and things of this world can contribute to much anxiety and stress in our
daily lives. When we stop to think about all the things that are going wrong or all the problems we may be facing at school, at work, with our families, with our finances or in our relationships; our hearts become so hopeless that our faces begin to shadow these fears, worries and sorrows. So much so that we sometimes forget to SMILE.
The reality is life is hard. It will come with problems, trials, and tribulations. However, we can still smile despite these things because there is a God; the one and true living God who loves us and is faithful to His promises. He promises to never leave us nor forsake us, He promises that in Him we can find
peace. He promises that He will strengthen and help us. So, what will you give your face rest from today?
