Cynthia Cosner, 502 FSS Gateway Club manager said the base facilities are unique because of their competitive pricing which does not include tax, parking or security fees that outside venues charge.
The teams at each club are also very versed in military protocols and etiquette, said Leick.
This specialized knowledge is instrumental in ensuring military retirements, promotions, leadership recognition events and change of command ceremonies run smoothly and leave patrons satisfied with how they were accommodated.
Catering team members are thoroughly experienced in nonmilitary focused events as well, including holiday parties, anniversaries, pickup food and beverage orders, weddings and various other occasions, whether indoors, outside on the facility grounds or at other locations across JBSA. In addition to gaining a crew with experience, customers also get to work with hosts that enjoy what they do.
Cosner said she likes creating menus and decorating themed events with an awesome small team, accomplishing major events flawlessly.
Effort is put into each location’s presentation, which is noticeable in the freshly painted walls and cared for green spaces at the Fort Sam Houston Golf Course.
“Our venue offers a beautiful view of the golf course,” said Jessica Parker, 502 FSS Fort Sam Houston Golf Course food and beverage manager. “We are capable of using the golf course with our catered events and can open the driving range to offer team building.”
These open-air events can be enhanced with outdoor games and portable Bluetooth speakers.
Groups interested in working with the clubs can reach out to them via phone to share desired dates, times, locations, party size and any special requests.
