The NOLA heat can get intense, so let’s beat the heat with these fun and easy cocktails that can be enjoyed with friends or family. These cocktails are great for porch sippin’, picnicking in Audubon Park, or French Quarter strolling.

WATERMELON & MINT MOJITO

1.5 oz Don Q Cristal Rum

5 chunks of muddled watermelon

5 fresh mint leaves

¾ oz fresh-squeezed lime juice

¾ oz simple syrup

Splash of soda water

Mint Sprig for garnish

Method:

Add lime juice, watermelon, and mint to a shaker tin and muddle.

Add remaining ingredients along with ice and shake it like a Polaroid picture.

Strain into a tall glass filled with ice. Splash of soda, garnish, and serve.

LAVENDER- HONEY SPRITZ

1oz lavender- honey syrup

½ oz lemon juice

3oz Cava Sparkling Brut

1oz Monkey 47 gin

Lemon twist for garnish

Method:

Add lavender honey syrup, gin, and lemon juice to a shaker tin filled with ice. Shake it up, strain into a Champagne flute, and top with Cava Sparkling Brut. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Frozen Bananas Foster

2oz Bumbu Rum Cream

1oz Banana Liquor

½ Fresh Banana

1oz Cinnamon Syrup

Caramel Drizzle

Method:

Blend all ingredients in a blender filled with ice, and pour into a tall glass. Drizzle with caramel. Option: Whipped Cream topping.

Summer Sangria

Batch Instructions for a Pitcher

4 parts Pinot Grigio White Wine

4 oz Triple Sec

4 oz Finest Call Passion Fruit Syrup

4oz Berry Vodka

4 oz Lemon juice

Chopped summer fruit: oranges, strawberries, peaches, and pears.

Apple slice garnish

Method:

In a large pitcher, combine all ingredients except fruit; whisk to combine. Add fruit, and chill overnight. Pour into a glass filled with ice and add some apple slices for garnish.
