summer internships It’s the end of the semester, and that means it’s time for summer internships! And experts say that internships are as vital to jobseeker success than ever before.   “Not only do college interns garner more job offers than applicants without that experience, but jobs that grow out of internships tend to command higher starting salaries,” Edwin W. Koc, research director at the National Association of Colleges and Employers, told the New York Times.  But what about the dreaded unpaid position? “Students need to view unpaid internships as an investment in the future, by perhaps working 15 or 20 hours a week at them and taking a parttime job to support themselves,” Lauren Berger, chief executive of Internqueen.com, an online internship listing site, advises in the same Times article.  Set a goal to learn something each day during your internship and take tons of notes—trust us: They’ll come in handy down the line.
