Bascom Talley Memorial Fund for Creative Writing In 2012, the parents and friends of Bascom Talley ’04 created a fund in his memory, devoted to one of his favorite subjects: creative writing. The Bascom Talley Memorial Fund for Creative Writing gives student playwrights in the creative writing program the opportunity to work with an established and talented professional director to bring their scripts to life on stage. Students will go through the process that allows a writer to translate scripts to the stage, learning how to edit and re-work a draft script so that it communicates the original intention and produces the ultimate audience experience. The 2013-2014 school year marks the launch of this exciting new program with local Helen Hayes–nominated director Jeremy Skidmore. Skidmore will visit with students starting winter 2014, working with them one-onone to bring their scripts to life. Learn more about Jeremy Skidmore at www.jeremyskidmore.net
