Full score of my opera The Gift of the Magi, based on the short story by O. Henry. It is Christmas Eve and Della Young (soprano) is desperate to buy a meaningful Christmas gift for her husband Jim Young (tenor). Jim recently lost his job and had to take a job that pays less. At the same time Madame Sofronie (mezzo) and her husband Mr. Sofronie (baritone) have had a good year financially with their shop Hair Goods of All Kinds, and plan a Christmas Feast. See how Della and Jim, with some help from the Sofronies, find perfect expressions of love through personal sacrifice. The opera also features a chorus and is scored for full orchestra. Duration c. 90 minutes.
