OUR NEW KINDERGARTEN Dedicated to Mr Tony Greer, former Principal 2009-2013 The Foundation has supported the extremely worthy project of our new Kindergarten facility - ‘Tony Greer Building’. We have been blessed with some very benevolent donations from supportive community members. Mr David and Mrs Irie Dalrymple have generously donated to the Whitsunday Anglican School Foundation, providing the Kindergarten with a safe, engaging and colourful undercover outdoor playground. We look forward to announcing in the near future other opportunities to support the School and give all members of the Mackay and School community a chance to be part of Whitsunday’s history.

TIARNA HEAD - PAST BOARDER FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT ‘It was with much regret that I had to leave Whitsunday Anglican School.’ I started at WAS at the beginning of 2012 and not long after, I received the Foundation’s Dalrymple Scholarship which allowed me to attend the School‘s Boarding facility. This scholarship was greatly appreciated by my parents and myself. I feel I have achieved so much during my time at WAS, especially with the help I received as part of the Learning Support Program. The knowledge I received will help me when I continue my studies. I have grown greatly in self-confidence and receiving a good education will prepare me for the future in whichever path I follow. Boarding has been a place where I have learnt to grow-up and do things for myself with minimal supervision. I have enjoyed my time at Whitsunday Anglican School and I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to the Foundation and the School for providing me with a Whitsunday education.’ Tiarna Head

ZAITOON SALMAN - YEAR 12 STUDENT SUPPORTED BY THE FOUNDATION ‘Thank you to the Whitsunday Anglican School Foundation for their support’ Near the end of 2014, I applied for the UN Youth Pacific Project, on a whim. UN Youth is an organization run by young people, for young people with the goal to empower and spread world knowledge. A month later, I was notified that I had been successful, in the first round. The next round included an extended response. Once again, I waited for the results. The final wait was the most agonizing. I was constantly refreshing my emails, checking my phone for calls and surreptitiously checking my mother’s phone for messages. When I received the call, the first words were ‘Congratulations Zaitoon…’ Since then I have been raising funds and awareness. It has been an arduous task, however it has been made easier due to the assistance I have received from the Whitsunday Anglican School Foundation. Their donation has put me very far ahead in my fundraising goals. I can’t explain how thankful I am for the assistance and the support that I have received from every member of the Whitsunday Anglican School community, especially The Foundation. Zaitoon Salman
