January 7th School Resumes Monday and the Second Semester begins. January 21st - Martin Luther King Jr. Day Holiday, no school at ALA that day. Tuesdays during January: Language Arts Class for Grades K-8th. Highlights of the class include a focus on: Grammar, Writing, Speaking Skills, Reading Comprehension, and Spelling Techniques. This workshop offers guaranteed success of improving our students' performance levels and providing them with the skills they'll need in the real world. Mrs. Armenta has geared this class to meet the needs of your children with their learning style. We are excited to make the English language not just a learning tool, but an experience. Guaranteed to bring your student up one whole grade level! January 16th - Letters of Love to our Soldiers. We will be writing and sending letters and care packages to our deployed soldiers overseas on Wednesday, the 16th. Please bring in donated items for the care packages. National School Choice Week begins Sunday, January 20th through Saturday, January 26th, 2019. ALA will be celebrating NSCW with fun activities all week long! January 23rd - This Wednesday is Science and Craft Day at ALA.

January 30th - New Year’s Resolution Essay Contest. Let us know what you want to give up or change for your resolution this year in an essay. The winner of the contest gets FREE LUNCH with Mrs. Armenta! Essays are due by Wednesday, January 30h, 2019. Deshpande January 2nd,  January Birthdays: Archita Megan Shook January 27th  January is National Bath Safety Month, National Blood Donor Month, National Braille Literacy Month, National Hobby Month, Hot Tea Month, National Oatmeal Month and National Soup Month.
