JANA AVERY All media that causes an audience to REACT by talking to someone about what they’ve seen is Social Media — it is human nature to share what we find interesting. But an effectively crafted message has the ability to cause a ripple effect creating change; creating action. As a communicator, my language consists of the logo, webpage, animation, video clip, facebook fan page, twitter post, blog post— any and every vehicle that allows the message to ride this metaphorical wave and reach its intended audience along the way while reshaping the world along its path.

WRACE (WikiRace) is an app that is designed and developed for mobile devices. The app is a game in which you navigate from one topic to another by clicking links available inside Wikipedia alone. Due to timing the process or counting the clicks it takes to get to one destination from another, the logo is designed to speak to the “race� aspect of the game. The logo is accompanied by the app design itself as well as the webpage that will be used to promote the app.




A minimal and literal approach to the branding of WBMG (Writer’s Block Music Group) was achieved by first using nothing but squares (blocks) and triangles to recreate the entire alphabet. After carefully measuring and crafting the letters by hand, the process was transitioned to Adobe Illustrator where a custom typeface logo was created.


The redesign of The Ninth Street Bakery homepage was created to take advantage of how much the internet is based on typography. The hierarchy is crafted to pull your eye toward the great talking points that were previously lost in the site. The homepage intentionally resembles the look and feel of a magazine ad.


Posh the salon currently has a website that does not properly represent the level of quality service recieved when visiting their establishment. With this redesign, an informative but visually interesting webspace was created. Deciding what information is most important to women when searching for a salon online was achieved by surveying serveral women and researching as many women’s magazines. Above, are the redesign of the Posh the salon homepage, logo and secondary mark.


Luhk Buhk is a style, fashion and pop-culture blog for which a brand is being devoloped. The brand is not yet complete but mindful to never waste the opportunity that is time, consultation with the client is underway in order to craft the voice that will represent luhkbuhk.com on the site and all other social media outlets.
