DELECIA PANSIES 602 FLARED VASE Ware featuring the ‘Delecia effect’ which was produced with raw colour mixed with turpentine so that the paint would run all over the ware first originated in 1930/1931. From 1932/1933 Clarice added fruits above green and grey runnings, and further enhanced the her ware with flower patterns throughout 1933 and 1934 thus creating a significant range. Daisy, Poppy, Nasturtium and Pansies were added at this time (see Pansies handwritten backstamp). A considerable amount of this ware and its runny effect was decorated by paintresses Elsie Nixon, Lily Barrow (Ethel ‘Crocus’ Barrow’s sister), Nora Dabbs, and Winnie Davies. This shape 602 vase is just over 9inches high and came in several sizes.
£600 - £800 INSPIRATION CLOVRE SINGLE HANDLED LOTUS Another show-stopping piece of Clarice Cliff pottery is this example of a 11-1/2inch high Clovre Lotus, with its neat handwritten “Inspiration” backstamp. Bright red, yellow and light green painted tulips with their blue/green leaves and black flowing stems create a bold floral pattern – they swirl their way around the front of this Lotus a treat! Much sought-after, due to its blue-black-inky looking background Clovre is unique in its appearance within the Inspiration range. A 1930 to 1931 pattern.
