[later Curtis’s Botanical Magazine] A near complete run, comprising of:- volumes 1 - 3, volume 4 lacking part 1, volumes 5 - 16, volume 17 lacking part 3, volumes 18 - 28, volume 29 lacking part 4, 111 parts, February 1988 - September 2012, numerous colour plates throughout, matching publisher’s card wrappers with inset colour plate to upper board, with three duplicate parts, an odd part from 1954 and the 15 year index of volumes 1 - 16 1984 - 1998, each part 240 x 160mm

The book combines hand-colouring with full colour-printing. This was the period of transition to mass produced chromolithographic technology away from hand coloured lithography. The plates are signed by Lewis & Brown & Co. Lewis and Brown were one of the first firms in the United States to produce chromolithographic illustrations for books. (1) £200-300
