322* Punch Dagger. A very fine WWI fighting knife by Robbins Dudley, the 12.5cm steel blade with steel knuckleguard and cast alloy grip clearly stamped ‘Robbins Dudley’, 15.5cm long overall, in its original brown leather sheath Prior to WWI Robbins in Dudley, Worcestershire specialised in basic blacksmith ironwork but the war opened up the opportunity to produce knives for private purchase in the trenches and the company produced many distinctive patterns. 320* Polish Paratroopers Helmet. A WWII No.1 Polish Paratroopers Helmet, painted with camouflage and a yellow Polish eagle crest to the front with rectangular strip beneath, original brown leather sweatband stamped ‘BMB’ and faintly inscribed, the lining with green webbing chin strap and netting, see Lot 319 Reputedly worn by Jan Dobrocznski who served with No.1 Polish Independent Parachute Brigade and landed at Driel, Arnhem in September 1944, he survived the war and passed away in Poland in 2009.
