2023 River Ratz Swim Season Recap

The 2023 JRCC swim team had a wonderful season! Our small but mighty team of 39 swimmers took 3rd in the division.

Our team worked hard in the pool but also had a lot of fun. Some highlights are donut/poster days, buddy groups learning about good sportsmanship and being teammates, and themed days for 4th of July, Pool Floats and Ice Cream Floats, and Under the Sea Day. We also enjoyed our annual swim games like watermelon polo and water balloon battle.

5. Thank you to our 9-10’s, 11-12’s and 13-14’s for swimming four events and a relay each meet because we needed their help. That is a lot of swimming in 2 hours!

1. Dylan Kennedy took first place in 50 free and 50 back for the first time in his swimming career.

2. Not only did our 7-8 swimmers Robby Aman, Hayden Watkins, and Marah Hodges swim as 9-10’s on our relays, they helped us earn first places.

3. Madelyn Gular, at just four years old, swam 25 free and 25 back and did amazing!

4. Congrats to Hayden Watkins and Harper Watkins for being undefeated all season.

6. Our parent volunteers are amazing! We couldn’t run meets or plan team events without their help and support.

We had 23 swimmers qualify for the City Meeting. An astonishing seven 6&U girls qualified. Here are a few highlights from champs this weekend.

1. Our Girls Medley relay came into the meet seeded 10th and finished 7th. They dropped almost 5 seconds to earn a spot on the medal stand. Great job Lilly Krikorian, Bentley Manning, Alivia Minson and Ella Bailey!

2. Three of our 6 and under girls earned a spot on the medal stand yesterday! Great job Katie Boerner, Hadley Rose, and Harper Watkins!

3. Congrats Katie Boerner, Conor Manning, Bentley Manning, Jamie Dornan, Hadley Rose, and Jameson Minson for dropping time in all their events!

4. Great job Ella Bailey and Alivia Minson for earning a spot on the medal stand in all four of their City Meet events! We ended the season with a Mexican themed banquet honoring all our swimmers!
