Creating buttons for a multi-state object Now that you’ve created a multi-state object, you’ll create a pair of buttons that a viewer can click in the SWF file to view each of the logos in succession. 1 Choose Window > Layers. In the Layers panel, expand the Buttons layer and then turn on the display of the objects named Next Logo and Previous Logo by clicking the square to the far left of the name. Because the objects have already been created, all you have to do is assign an action to each.

2 Use the Selection tool ( ) to select the right-pointing triangle to the right of the stack of logos, and then open the Buttons panel by clicking its icon or by choosing Window > Interactive > Buttons. (In the Layers panel, you can see that the selected object is named Next Logo.) 3 In the Buttons panel, notice that the name of the selected object is automatically displayed in the Name box. In the Event menu, make sure that On Release is selected. This event triggers the button when a viewer of the exported SWF file clicks it and releases the mouse button. Now you need to select what action will occur when the button is clicked. 4 Click Add New Action For Selected Event ( ), and choose Go To Next State from the menu. You’ve configured the button so that when a viewer of the exported SWF file clicks it, the next logo in the multi-state object will be displayed.
