PORTRAIT SESSION
STYLE
THE SETTING - We will work together to determine a beautiful location to meet your portrait needs. I have great locations from gardens to farms, and fields to beaches or even your backyard. THE FASHION - Typically, I suggest coordinating with a splash of matching (my girls dress in matching outfits constantly, and it's really adorable!). I usually pick an outfit I love for my girls and then pull a few colors out of that outfit, and dress the rest of us in those. I try to add layers, and add subtle pops of color and great accessories. THE WALLS - Consider where these photos will hang in your home. My ceilings are high, and I like to display large canvases. My walls are gray, so I like the colors to pop from the portraits. A pop of color goes a very long way whether your home is neutral or colorful. THE MAYBE NOTS - For full family shots, I usually suggest we skip the character gear (there's always an exception... if your child is actually Batman, by all means, bring on the cape). For the ladies, don't forget to take hair ties off your wrists, and be sure to have your nails clean and free of chips. For the men, no baseball caps, sunglasses or white sports socks (or old sneakers). Shooting in the shade is always preferable to direct sunlight, and I won't let you be attacked by the sun! THE IDEAS - I am ALWAYS open to your ideas and dream shots, and I always welcome you to show me a shot on Pinterest! We are here to work together, have lots of fun and preserve this precious time.
