K World! KEY CLUB Loud Up! DDDEEEE TTTWWW WOOOO!

I trust that your first month back at school was a productive one. However, if it wasn’t, I suggest you make every effort to utilize your time wisely. Nevertheless, let’s not discuss school now. =D Key club seems to be getting active again. The month was filled with several activities including inter-clubbings and the annual International Beach Clean Up. This year, the division was well represented 8 clubs participating. -applause- I hope the projects increase drastically though. Let’s start ensuring that the KEY CLUB name resonates within each school in the division and is reckoned as the greatest service leadership program. Nevertheless, September was a great month, and I'm looking forward to October with even more zeal.

D2? Boom! I have to use this opportunity to encourage all our new and not so strong clubs to push on; Work hard and have fun! Also, I have to congratulate Excelsior High School’s Key Club on celebrating 34 years of service to their school and community. They had their Anniversary meeting on Friday September 30th, 2011. I can’t do math that well, but I think that means they were charted in 1977! Bem! Finally, big up to the Kiwanis Club of Kingston, New

It is a pleasure to say that the annual costal clean up held on the 17th of September 2011 was a raving success. Key clubbers from all around division II, and the adjacent divisions all rallied around the event and showed the kind of spirit that Key Club is renowned for. Schools such as Ardenne High, St. Andrews, Wolmer’s Girls, Mona and Jamaica College were present in their numbers. Jamaica College in particular had a grand total of 15 members present, which includes members from forms ranging from 3rd to 6th form. It was indeed a labour of love, as all who took part ventured into wild terrain, from thorn bushes, to long abandoned buildings, in search of all the things that polluted the environment. It all culminated in the revamping and overall renewing of the Palisadoes area.

For Campion's Key Club, Club Expo was an overall success. We gained approximately 20 prospective members. This year, our booth had a garden theme which 'grew' the positive expressions about key club. We had pictures, brochures, awards won at past ICONs, key club pins, bags, relay for life tshirts and various other merchandise on display. We sold a variety of pastries which our key clubbers donated. However, what made the biggest profit were our badges which were designed by our Scrapbooking Chairpersons, Shwe Myanmar, Gabrielle Chen and Sarita Chen. Many of our club members volunteered their break time to help manage the booth. Club Expo was definitely a great turnout for our Key Club.

Written by: Bulletin Editor Jermaine Flemmings Exert from College Views: The Official Jamaica College Key Club Newsletter Excelsior High School key club held its 34th anniversary celebration on September 30,201. It was an evening of excitement. Our kiwanians were well represented. We received greetings from our kiwanis club and also our Lt. G Chadwick Anderson. The anniversary cake was cut by Pres Durene, FA Mr. Haynes & KA Mr. Lawrence. Activites were lead by CP Deidre Ann and the evening was ended with the friend ship circle. Kudos to CP Benjamin and her team who beautifully decorated the room for the function.

Ask Me How To Be a

With The Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. This deadly disease steals the lives of nearly 60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. The effects of the disease are excruciating — tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch. To eliminate MNT from the Earth, more than 100 million mothers and their future babies must be immunized. This requires vaccines, syringes, safe storage, transportation, thousands of skilled staff and more. It will take US$110 million — and the dedicated work of UNICEF and every member of the Kiwanis family. In accordance with our Parent Organization, I’ll be implementing a divisional fundraiser in aid of the Eliminate Project. Each participating club should raise at least US$60.00, which would mean that the division should raise US$660.00. I know it seems like a lot, but it isn’t out of our limits. It can be attained if we all work together to ELIMINATE Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus. As a reward, the club which is able to raise the most will receive $500.00 Credit for personal use. This school will also get the opportunity to plan one divisional event, including, but not limited to a social or mass meeting. The rewards may be flexible, depending on the extent of the clubs effort. So start fundraising! =D
