PULAU PAYAR MARINE PARK 巴雅岛

Pulau Payar Marine Park comprises the islands of Pulau Payar, Pulau Lembu, Pulau Segantang and Pulau Kaca which make up Malaysia’s oldest Marine Park Sanctuary. These islands teem with a fascinating variety of marine life and vegetation, offers the best diving sites in the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Pulau Payar is but one example of Malaysia’s most popular year-round diving and snorkeling destinations. A large, permanent reef platform offshore is a great stopover for its many amenities and the panoramic view. From here, traveling to other dive sites is just a breeze. Those who do not dive or snorkel can still view the spectacular underwater domain from Malaysia’s first and only underwater observation chamber. At Coral Garden an area covered with bright multi-hued soft corals is one the popular dive spots at Pulau Payar. Next to it is Grouper Farm, a site renowned for its many groupers, snappers and even barracudas. Visitors should book the catamaran or speedboat a day before their departure to Pulau Payar Marine Park at Kuah Jetty. Pulau Payar Marine Park is situated 19 nautical miles south of Langkawi and the journey takes from 45mins or slightly more depending on sea conditions. A day trip is the only way of discovering the wonders of Pulau Payar Marine Park.
