Kim Sperber presents at DOC To advance successful offender reentry to protect the public, staff and offenders from victimization.

Kim Sperber, Chief Research Officer for Talbert House, visited DOC May 24th to give presentation on Continuous Quality Improvement to leadership and QA staff across the state. The presentation discussed the new model and how to best implement the model based on the current QA work and resources.

SRR presented at Iowa/Nebraska Peer to Peer Homelessness Symposium June 9th on the topic of Housing Persons Re-Entering Communities. 37 housing professionals attended and the panel was well received.

Four Continuous Quality Improvement interns, Julianne Bacon, Lena Lo, Cein Moran and Matthew Knudsen, assist Quality Assurance Specialists in conducting quality assurance audits/reviews on risk instruments to ensure accurate scoring by the staff within Iowa institutions and community-based corrections.

SRR Snapshots!

SRR QA Specialists have developed and are piloting IOWA program tool with T4C classes.

Beginning process of utilizing new Home Placement Questionnaire (HPQ) checklist.

SRR staff presented to judges at ISBA CLE Conference on SRR strategy and received positive feedback.

SRR Strategy is developing a reentry dashboard to track system, agency, unit and staff level performance measures.

Gary Christensen, President of Justice Solutions, Inc. visited DOC to meet with leadership to discuss organization development around SRR strategies. Ensuring we have the infrastructure in order to facilitate changes made by SRR.

31,353 Number of activities that were recorded in Institutional Time Study.

930,339 Minutes (15,506 hours) recorded for activities with an average of about 7,952 minutes (132 hour per counselor) for the Institutional Time Study.

SRR presents at Deputy Wardens Conference SRR presented to 61 attendees July 12th at the 71st Annual United States Deputy Wardens Association conference. The workshop included the main objectives and goals of SRR and focal points such as Continuous Quality Improvement, Human Resources, Risk assessments and implementation.
