Säppi and Oura The Säppi lighthouse island and Oura archipelago are parts of the Bothnian Sea National Park. The landscapes around the Säppi lighthouse are diverse, ranging from maritime views to black alder groves, dry heaths, meadows and bogs. A specialty on the island are the rare Mouflon sheep. You can explore the island in the summer time on cruises, for example.

Take a day or two for a maritime trip for example to Galeas Ihana’s home port, Luvia’s Laitakari, from which you can continue by boat to the wonderful Säppi lighthouse island or the rugged outer archipelago. The archipelago in front of Pori and the river delta provide for things to see and experience. The journey along the Kokemäenjoki River delta takes approximately 2 hours. Come to the Bothnian Sea National Park and familiarise yourself with the unique and constantly changing insular nature, caused by land uplift. If you are taking a trip for a day or two, it is recommended to depart from any harbour on the coast and head for the lovely lighthouse islands or the rugged outer archipelago. The landscape can also be enjoyed by canoeing on the more sheltered areas of the archipelago. The avifauna of the area is also plentiful. The national park consists of areas that differ in terms of geography: The Oura, Gummandoora ja Pooskeri archipelagos, Preiviikinlahti and the Luvia, Rauma, Uusikaupunki and Seksmiilari archipelagos. Pori’s Tuulipuisto and Information Centre The centre provides current information on the wind power production by Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy as well as wind power in general.
