Everyday, you see it passing in front of you. Through your cars, your trains, and planes. You don’t see anything. You don’t think of anything. And you don’t do anything. But it’s still there. These communities, brought into poverty by Chicago and nobody except city schools doing anything about it. Only problem is that simple training with business and medicine are both 2 hours away from anybody in Chicago’s south side. Meaning Fewer businessmen, nurses and doctors. What’s worse is our Mayor Rahm Emanuel supports this system of schooling that segregates these students from achieving “I’m not for dismantling that progress. I’m for building on that progress.” Rahm Emanuel 40 to 60 percent of residents are living below the poverty level and are working 40 hours a week. And Rahms so called system has created at Kennedy city college a 35.8 percent drop in enrollment from fall 2011-2015. If you are calling-letting our students rot by limiting their resources and making job opportunities less achievable “progress”, the working class of Chicago clearly does not know what progress means. Luckily, there’s a light in the tunnel. Paul Vallas, former CEO of CPS and mayoral candidate, is here to save the day. Known for his post-disaster education reform in both New Orleans and Haiti, he is here to challenge Rahm Emanuel and his system. Creating a “fourth-tier education system” to assist the “huge number of disenfranchised Chicagoans between the age of 17 and 50 who need basic education and occupational training.” Core classes dedicated to medicine and business for everyone. Everyday, you see Chicago communities moving forward. With a better future for students for Chicago. Vote for Vallas
