Dear Orange Residents & Business Community, The Orange Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to promoting a favorable business climate for our members and our community. For the last 48 years the Orange Chamber of Commerce has acted as an independent, non-government member based organization. We all know that the national and local economies have been difficult over the last several years. Despite the challenges that businesses have faced, The Orange Chamber of Commerce has continued to grow and prosper thanks to the efforts of our staff and membership. The Chamber’s greatest asset continues to be our members, those talented business leaders who work so hard to offer the Town of Orange a vibrant business environment. The Chamber serves our community by providing opportunities for members to stay informed and communicate with business and government leaders. We offer programs and special events designed to educate and promote business in Orange. Our Chamber sponsors networking groups including three leads groups, the Women’s Leadership Group and The Health and Wellness Council. Our new fusion marketing groups share resources to promote their businesses to

chamber networking groups Our Strength The Health & Wellness Council – Exclusive to businesses in the health and wellness industry, this chamber group offers unique networking opportunities and plans chamber and community wide health-related programs. Leads Groups The goal of these groups is to facilitate the generation of business leads for members of the group. Only one member per industry category is accepted into each group and Chamber membership is required to join a group. Business Referral Network meets bi-monthly on Tuesdays at 8:00 a.m. at Laurel Estates Assisted Living Community. Orange Premier Exchange Networking Group meets bimonthly on Wednesdays 8:00 a.m. at Laurel Estates Assisted Living Community. Leads Group III meets bi-monthly at 12:30 p.m. on Thursdays at Brueggers Bagels. Fusion Marketing Groups – The primary purpose of the Chamber’s fusion marketing program is to develop joint marketing efforts and share resources. The Marketing & Communications Committee The charge to this Committee is to develop a mechanism for ensuring consistence and quality in all Chamber of Commerce marketing materials and the Chamberâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Web presence. The Golf Tournament Committee plans and implements the Chamberâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Annual Golf Tournament. The Holiday Party Committee plans and implements this festive December event. The Legislative Action Committee serves as the connection between the Chamber and its local, state and federal government representatives. In addition, the committee brings issues and programs to Chamber members that may be affected by legislative or administrative action between business and government. Economic development

The Orange Economic Development Corporation, proudly serving the Orange community since 1998, is a 501 (c)(3) organization, established to enhance and encourage economic development within the industrial, commercial and retail zones. The corporation engages a membership roster of private businesses, town leaders and community organizations to provide comprehensive economic development services for the Town of Orange. The OEDC administers economic development programming on behalf of the Town of Orange to encourage economic growth in the community’s commercial, industrial, and retail zones. The corporation accomplishes this through a variety of methods: www.OrangeEDC.com 203.891.1045

1. Facilitate communication between the private sector, First Selectman’s Office and local land use boards. 2. Assist in the identification of available and suitable properties to conduct business. 3. Administer specific development activities to support the growth and expansion of the industrial zone. 4. Develop marketing tools and initiatives to support ongoing business recruitment activities. 5. Identify resources for business to succeed in the Town of Orange, which may include financing, realtor services, utility contacts, or government assistance. 6. Establish programs and activities designed to encourage or support business development and entrepreneurship. Over the years the OEDC has garnered over $1,500,000 in state and federal grants to support economic and community development activities, administered Annual Orange Business & Community Expo for nine consecutive years, created the OrangeLife Magazine, managed a series of marketing programs designed to encourage business growth in the town of Orange and helped to recruit numerous businesses to the community. The OEDC views the economic development program as a team sport, as it receives support from several sources including the Town of Orange, the Orange Economic Development Commission, and the Chamber of Commerce. As the Orange Chamber of Commerce has grown in size and stature, it has taken on a greater role in the economic development of the community. The Chamber’s business to business services combined with its LEAD’s Groups, the Women’s Leadership Networking Group, and the many social networking activities scheduled throughout year have become integral to the ongoing professional development services provided within the Town of Orange.
