PRS for Music Welcome

PRS for Music, throughout its history, has supported classical music, its composers and its publishers.

Over the past hundred years the classical sector has evolved more than anyone could have ever imagined. While the classical community faces unique challenges, the vitality and art of composition remains constant, retaining its ability to truly move listeners and affect emotion, whether through live performance or through innovative technology, bringing music to audiences in new ways.

At PRS for Music, we are proud to champion classical music creators and over the past few years we have developed a portfolio of initiatives to support composers across the UK including workshops, showcases and commissioning opportunities with organisations such as Cheltenham Music Festival, New Music Scotland, The Riot Ensemble, Tŷ Cerdd and Wild Plum Arts.

We are once again delighted to support The Ivors Composer Awards which celebrate the talented composers who create music that continues to inspire us all. I would also like to thank all of the commissioners, funders, performers and publishers present tonight, for the support and commitment you provide to our composers.

Congratulations to the composers being honoured tonight and thank you to all of the nominees and winners for the art you bring into our lives.
