e gather together this time of year with our family and friends to ask the Lord’s blessing. Thanksgiving Day is the holiday that focuses on what is truly important in life. No mad dash to buy gifts at the eleventh hour; no gift wrapping, just a day off in the middle of the week to share time and a special meal with the people we love. I have decided that if I had to write about everything that I am thankful for, I would not be able to fit it on this page nor into the entire magazine. In short, I am thankful for the small but most important things in my life, my sons, daughter and granddaughter, my family and all of my true friends that have shared the good and bad times throughout the years. When I count my blessings, I am so thankful for the opportunity to share our local businesses and their families with you. Remember the crisp gold and glowy red-orange leaves of Autumn, our signal that the holidays are upon us. Support our local community and the businesses that make it so wonderful. Most of all, be thankful for the country in which we live and for our service men and women that protect us so that we can again celebrate another holiday filled with freedom, justice and liberty & love.
