unning to Places will open its ninth season with a production of Crazy for You at the State Theatre. Although the songs were written by George and Ira Gershwin in the 1920s and ‘30s for several different musicals (but primarily Girl Crazy from 1930), they were collected by Ken Ludwig in the early 1990s to make a new play. The characters are more fully fleshed out and there is better development of the female characters.” The “book” or story presented in this musical is a familiar one from countless other plays and films. A young man who always wanted a career on the stage is forced into a career in law, joining the family firm. He is sent to a small town to close down a theatre that’s going under, but of course is convinced by the local theatre community to put on “one more show” that is sure to make the money needed to keep the house open. And, as Steinhagen noted, hilarity, misunderstandings, and mistaken

This Binghamton based band excels in the avenues of party style and cover music. A rundown of alternative pop favorites from the nineties (Oasis, Third-Eyed Blond, Greenday) played tightly, with a little punk energy is pretty much what you can expect. They’re a tight cover band, and if you’re feeling nostalgic for some hollywood flannel, pink skullies, and the film Clueless, this is the band for you.
