PALACES, LODGES & RETREATS

THE ULTIMATE TRAVELLING CAMP Offering three luxury mobile camps in three diverse locations in India, The Ultimate Travelling Camp is for those who have a love of the great outdoors and seek adventure without compromising on luxury. The camps are located in Northern India and erected only when the season is right. The three camps are positioned in, Thiksey – the land of the Lamas, nestled into the dramatic landscape at Diskit (both in Ladakh) and in the exotic state of Nagaland – home to the Nagas. Each location has something magical to offer. The accommodation here is truly indulgent. All camps, no matter the location come complete with luxurious tents boasting an en suite bathroom and draped with the finest materials for all soft furnishings. For

supper, enjoy age-old family recipes served around a roaring fire.

The Chamba Camp at Thiksey creates truly memorable experiences – watch the sport of the Royals at Ladakh-Polo, raft down the River Indus, enjoy picnic lunches amid picturesque spots offering unforgettable views and much, much more before retiring to your luxurious tent. A total of 14 tents sit overlooking the Thiksey Monastery. NAGALAND Kohima Camp, Nagaland is set in the north-eastern corner of India and is bordered to the west by Assam; Myanmar in the east; Arunachal Pradesh in the north and Manipur in the south. This forms a part of what are known as the Seven Sisters, the seven states of north-east India, full of rolling hills and verdant rainforests, making this region extremely remote yet picturesque. The camp is only really open for two weeks at the end of November and beginning of December and offers a luxurious base to discover the region. NOTE: Kohima Camp, Nagaland is centred around the annual Hornbill Festival at Kohima from the 1st-10th December. DISKIT Nestled in the Nubra Valley, Chamba Camp, Diskit, is bordered by the jagged mountain peaks of the trans-Himalayas and invites you on a journey into the days of old. The region, untouched by today’s mass tourism offers insights into what life was like back in the days of the nomadic tribesmen, merchants and monks who wandered these sand dunes and dramatic landscapes during the era of the Silk Route. In the sleepy village age of Diskit, spend your days as active or relaxed as you wish. From hikes to exploring the village, this region offers it all in one authentic trip.
