Swim Lessons

This program offers a curriculum that encourages participants to succeed and develop important skills. Swim lessons provide an enjoyable learning experience, teach participants how to be safe in and around the water, and give them a lifelong skill that every person should know. Instructors reserve the right to place the participant in the class best suited to his or her ability. Additionally, it is common for participants to spend more than one session in a certain level; please remember this when registering your child for multiple sessions. Safety classes will take place inside during inclement weather. No class July 4-8.

Drop-Off Guidelines

Parents: Please bring your child to the pool deck and remain with him/her until the instructor has arrived. Once your child is with his/her teacher, parents should proceed to the designated viewing space which is located in the concession area or on the ramp. On the last day of class, parents are able to view the class on the deck to see what their child has learned. Thank you for your cooperation.

Free Swim Lesson Week

Must Pre-Register June 6 –10 (M,W,F )

9:45-10:30am CODE: 111709-01 10:45-11:30am CODE: 111709-02 Come try out our swim lesson program and get your swim test early with our free days of swim lessons. You will be tested for placement, learning skills and drill, and meet the instructors who will be teaching lessons this summer. Registration is first come, first serve online or at the Rec Center. Parent & Tot Swim Lessons

These lessons are designed for children ages 1 to 3 years old. Both parent and child will be in the water with the instructor as a group. Classes are meant to familiarize your tot with the water and teach swimming readiness skills while parents will learn how to safely interact with their swimmer in and around the water. Children who are not toilet-trained must wear a swim diaper and tight-fitting plastic pants over diaper (NO disposable or cloth diapers). Tiny Tots Swim Lessons

Swimmers will be taught to respect and enjoy the water, not fear it. Class environment includes basic skills: blowing bubbles, arm strokes, bicycle kick, getting their head wet, supported back and front float, and swimming alone with a flotation device. Journey Swim Lessons

The program offers a curriculum that encourages participants to succeed and develop skills. Swim lessons provide an enjoyable learning experience, teach participants how to be safe in and around the water, and give them a lifelong skill that every person should know. You do not need to know your swimmers ability to register them for lessons. Skills will be assessed by the swim lessons coordinator and swim instructors on the first day of classes in order to ensure your swimmer is in the correct level. Instructors reserve the right to place the participant in the class best suited to his or her ability. Additionally, it is not uncommon for participants to spend more than one session in a certain level; please remember this when registering your child for multiple sessions.
