Eight hours of eternity. Giacomo’s story - Photo insert

At the beginning of the pregnancy, Dr. Parravicini said to us that we should live this time fully and completely, as our baby would not survive for long. Hence, we decided to take many pictures: we wanted to have memories of his life.

As a “present� for him, we printed these t-shirts with a sentence that holds the meaning of life for all of us: Because you are precious in My eyes, you are honoured and I love you. (Isaiah 43:4). It was perfect for Giacomo.

I bought about eight different berets. They told us that covering his malformation was important, so that we could look at him “as a whole�, and not only at what was not right.

These two sisters have been like mums for me.

On a beach in Dubai, two weeks before delivery. The expectation was huge, but we were happy, happy to finally meet this son.

Midnight of 28th of February, just after I was admitted to the hospital to induce the labour. This is the t-shirt I wore when I delivered my three daughters (a ritual that had been kept throughout the years) and Giacomo would have the same treatment as his sisters.

At the lunch after Giacomo’s funeral. We had decided to go to a beautiful place to celebrate Giacomo in heaven. It was a very beautiful lunch, with the grandparents, the friends, Father Roberto… I was aware that our serenity and our smiles were really the “work of Someone else”.
