SLALOM - VII D O M I N AT I O N The dominance of JP in the PWA Slalom Tour is pretty stunning. Antoine Albeau FRA 192 has again won the title already before the final tour stop in Sylt. After winning Turkey Micah Buzianis USA 34 is currently sitting in third with a good chance to finish second overall for the year. JP is also leading in the PWA Slalom constructors ranking.

You easily stay connected to the board no matter how strong the wind gets. You never feel like you are getting pulled out of your straps and need to bend up your toes to stay in the straps. The bottom shape of the smaller sizes up to 68 has a double concave V (see fig 2) flowing into a flat V towards the tail. This feature guarantees a smoother ride. The concave section works like a suspension when the board hits the chop.

Consequently it is fair to say that the outstanding performance of the JP Slalom VI boards has been proven again on the highest level of racing - the PWA Tour - therefore we continue with the basic concept of

3 Board Sizes Per Rider

Flat “V“ The 2 bigger sizes have a continuous flat V. In light wind instant lift, guaranteed by the flat V, is essential for instant lift and acceleration.

The professional approach and experience of our team pushed us to come up with the most complete SL range. Our riders dominated in all conditions, no matter if they used the small sizes in high winds or big sizes in light winds.

Very critical is the V flow towards the tail in combination with the Tail Cut-Outs. Even though we use a wider tail we had to make sure we create the perfect release by adding V towards the tail of the board. That way the boards have no speed limit and the riders can accelerate with every gust and overtake their competitors.

Because of the great success in the PWA tour there was no need at all to invent the wheel allover again and Werner and the riders concentrated on simply further developing the existing concept. SHAPE CONCEPT

The thickness flow of the boards towards the front has been designed in a way so that the boards became rather thin from the mast track forward for maximum control.

Easy sailing and control is a major factor in top level racing. When they approach the first mark, they are totally maxed out and have to fight for every centimeter to come out on top. In this situation even top professionals need a board they can rely on, that stays controllable no matter how choppy and hectic it might get on the race course so that they can focus on getting into the best position.

Werner used full rails in the mid and front sections (see fig 3) to avoid water to flow over the deck after the gybe or when trying to get planing. This is essential as this water would push the board down and would hold it back.

Keeping that in mind we further refined the outline and tail width. The key factor for excellent control is an even load distribution on both feet. The slightly wider tail and more parallel outline guarantees a more parallel stance and even pressure on both feet. (see figure 1)

Fuller Rails

An additional advantage coming from the new outline is the better acceleration out of the gybe due the bigger planing/ surface area at the tail.

figure 3

Even though the 2010 racing season is not over yet Antoine, Micah and the rest of the JP Slalom team can hardly wait to prove again that the JP Slalom boards will be very hard to beat.

The Race Deck also has been further developed and made slightly higher to create a better connection to the board. It offers a raised area underneath your forefoot and toes which provides unknown comfort and control when going at full speed.

WINNING IS SO MUCH FUN!
