New Opportunities Ahead
As we enter a new decade, the College of Business stands on a solid foundation of talent and opportunity. Last year we added another undergraduate advisor to better serve our students, and the College met its budgetary targets. Our students continue to perform well at the competitions and activities in which they are engaged and our Professional Development program continues to thrive.
We also successfully concluded our national search for a new dean. In June, Shane Hunt, Ph.D. will assume leadership of the College. Hunt brings to the role his experience as dean of the College of Business at Arkansas State University and product manager and business development manager at a Fortune 500 company. Please join me in welcoming him to Idaho State University. The College’s success over the past year can be attributed to many people. The faculty, staff and Executive Committee worked diligently to serve our students and provide them with an excellent education. The dean’s search committee did an outstanding job throughout the recruiting and hiring process. Our Leadership Board also provided steadfast support in this time of transition, and participated in the search process. I offer them all my sincere gratitude. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as acting dean for the College of Business, and I could not have asked for a better group of people to work with. While the College faces challenges that are common throughout higher education, it also has opportunity to grow and meet the evolving needs of our community and I am confident that the College is up to the task. This issue of the Business Bulletin is dedicated to featuring our new dean and a number of exemplary alumni. These Bengal graduates have achieved roaring success and we are excited to see what they accomplish next.
