Meet Your

Board!

Adam Wendt Member at Large Adam Wendt was born and raised in Wyoming and graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1988. He has a strong technology background and graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Music Composition in 1994. Since then he has been working at all levels of educational media development and production, including writing, directing and producing programs in collaboration with research scientists. He is an experienced developer, director and producer of educational media programs and technology applications for parents, teachers and people who have developmental disabilities. He has been responsible for developing over 37 interactive media projects at IRIS Media, Inc. He is currently working on two online media projects funded through the Department of Education and three projects funded through the National Institutes of Health. Mr. Wendt founded IRIS Media in 1999 and is currently the Chief Operations Officer. He has been the primary designer of www.irisedonline.com and is currently working on a number of projects to deliver professional and personal development content to teachers, parents and direct support staff. He resides in Eugene, Oregon with his wife and three adopted children, ages 4, 7, and 14. He is way into listening to podcasts and investigating new instructional technologies. He likes to Wakeboard, Snow Ski, Camp, and much to his wife’s dismay, has an eclectic taste in music.

Katie Christo Member at Large Katie is currently the Instructional Technology Specialist for the Middle School at the American International School in Chennai, India. She has worked as an ITS at both the Elementary and Middle levels for the past 7 years. She has also been a Director of Education for Sylvan Learning Centers, taught at the college level, and worked for a dot-com. She received undergraduate degrees in Graphic Design and in Elementary Education. Her MEd is in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration on Instructional Technology from Northeastern University. Her experiences in educational technology span teacher trainings, presentations at conferences, planning of conferences, and recently, an understanding of instructional technology in international schools. She also shares, through her wiki and blog(s), innovative learning technologies and their use to further teaching and learning. Katie strives to motivate and encourage her staff and students as they grow as teachers and learners. She loves to travel and see the world with her husband. She is also a mixed-media artist whose paintings have been in shows in North Carolina and South Carolina and have sold around the world.
