t is not often we have to ‘stop press’ as our plans are usually mapped out well in advance. However, we have been given a chance to attend a stamp exhibition in Beijing later this year which is a great honour and too good an opportunity to miss. This latest issue we will feature at this year’s exhibition is the Year of the Snake miniature sheet. As many of you will remember we were fortunate in having a stand at the Olympic Expo in Beijing in 2008 which was a marvellous experience. Our Olympic stamps were very popular with the Chinese collectors and featured the Island’s cycling heroes Mark Cavendish and Johnny Bellis who competed for Great Britain that year. The exhibition was amazing and we were so grateful to the China National Post Office for making us so welcome. Celebrating the Chinese Year of the Snake, our miniature sheet and small souvenir sheet will hopefully bring fortune, emolument (salary), longevity and happiness to us all.

Framed and Signed Olympic Winners Sheet... less than half price offer. We were very lucky to have 100 London 2012 Olympic Games Gold medal Winners Sheets signed by all four Team Pursuit Cyclists (see page 10 in main newsletter 139 or web site). We were even more fortunate to find a company who would frame the sheets at a bargain price, without affecting quality, improving our original estimate for framing and transportation. We have therefore dropped the framed signed sheets to just £60 from £135! We will be contacting all previous purchasers of the framed item to refund the difference which leaves us with a ‘first come first served offer’ for these few remaining collectables which is an opportunity too good to miss. Best Wishes

Year of the Snake Souvenir Sheetlet A special sheetlet comprising mint stamps and decorative auspicious symbolic images. Year of the Snake Souvenir Sheetlet Mint RA64 CTO RA65 £1.60 St Patrick and the Snake Crown The Isle of Man does not have a patron saint, but if we were to adopt one, St Patrick would be a strong contender, even if we had to share him with Ireland, as he is credited with bringing Christianity to our shores. The image on the coin shows St Patrick casting out serpents during his time on the Isle of Man with the obverse carrying a fine effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, Lord of Man by Ian RankBroadley FRBS. The coin is Cupro Nickel St Patrick and the Snake Crown in box AG66 £12.95
