Democratic Space
Democracy provides citizens with “the right to the city,” Public space allows the free appropriation and expression of space in our cities by all inhabitants. Without public space, our society will shift into a polarized, privatised arena, dividing society into smaller target groups and segregating people along socio-economic classes.
The project shall look to increase the engagement of the citizens within their respective proposal. There will be an engagement in urban design conversations to understand architecture’s responsibility as a prominent contributer to any city’s growth.
The project is going to be a skyscraper which will be a hybrid building with a x- factor in it.
The building departs from formalism and focuses on the interaction between programs and the transformation of the building volume according to its relationship with the inhabitants, the city, and the landscape. The structure consists of three main building blocks for housing, offices, and retail.
