It’s a pleasure to introduce you our new 17-18 line! With the help of the community supporting WEST, we pushed the range to evolve, allowing more space for new input, influences and inspirations. Our «classics» like La Hache and the Six Carro became even more refined. We also have a new «signature» line that is dedicated to our team riders and a few famous friends. As for constrution we are now using, on several of our boards, the new NHS base material. NHS stands for, «Nano High Speed». It is an UHMW polyethylene base with fluor additives, higher density and better resistance to abrasion. It is the very best of P-tex quality. And of course there are a few new collabs and featured artists, uniting our extended snowboard family. A very special thanks to all the people involved! LA SUPEME / T H E SWISS MADE
We are happy to work with Reto Neiger from Zen Snow for the second season in a row, to create a very special board that we call, «La Suprème». This is our signature «Swiss Made» project. When we first had the idea for this board, it was only natural to contact Reto. He’s a rider who we’ve respected since the good old days, back in the 90s. We’ve followed his tracks in recent years as he’s developed into a skilled snowboard builder and shaper, so we knew he was «the» guy for this project! Reto has been an all mountain ripper for the last two decades with unique riding skills. He is following his passion by working with his hands and riding with his soul. Through his project, zensnow.com, Reto became one of Switzerland’s most exclusive Snowboard shapers. As you know, there are many ways to snowboard, there are also many ways to build snowboards! But we think that Reto’s is one of the purest. In his workshop, close to Interlaken, Reto puts all of his passion into building boards that meet the highest Swiss standards. It all starts with the best raw materials and �finishes with an unmatched attention to detail, resulting in an advanced shape. Voilà, «La Suprème» — fast, stable and reliable! What Switzerland is to watch making, «La Suprème» is to snowboard making! This board is handcrafted in Switzerland, in very limited numbers.

The Valhalla is our female specific board, designed to fit a woman’s style of riding with a smaller size and a smoother flex.

To make it a special, «all-in-one» board, we combined three specific features. First off, it has a twin tip rocker to make it more playful. Second, it features a triple radius for great edge grip and carving. Last but not least is a slight set-back and a progressive nose for more float on powder days.

The signatures are our new freestyle line. They serve as a «carte blanche» for our team riders, artists and friends, and an open door for new projects. It’s a line as eclectic as the WEST crew itself, and each board is a reflection of those colorful personalities. Thanks to those guys (and girl) for their input and passion for snowboarding!
SIG 15 0 C OUDER C Fred Couderc is our local ripper, shredding the parks of the western swiss alps for the last ten years! He is positivity and fun, personified on a board. He chose his buddies at Ifound to make his design.
SI G 151 (FEMALE SPECIFIC) EL ENA Elena Könz is our newest WEST rider and we are so stoked to finally add a feminine touch to the team! Her signature board is based on a Valhalla shape, but built with the carbon crosses over the wood core on the nose and tail, for more precision and better reactivity. To top it off, the artwork has been designed by Elena herself. Thanks Elena! It’s great to welcome you into the family!
SI G 1 5 3 BORI S Boris Mouton is a trick machine! We’re blown away by his progressive skills and honored to have him as our ambassador at some of the world’s finest snowboard contests. Watching Boris ride helps to remind us that everything is possible in snowboarding.
SIG 15 5 BEAUFOR T We have been following the enigmatic artist, Lucas Beaufort for a while. Now, thanks to the signature series, we got the chance to work with him. Lucas put this nice design on our «sig» 155. We’re stoked to have such a committed artist featured in our 17-18 line!
Leo Eigensatz is one of a kind! He is a perfect reflection of our vision of snowboarding, oozing creativity and natural style. Leo and his board are like a pizza and a beer! The perfect match.

IRAN
The «We Ride In Iran» project was conceived to help the development of the boardsports culture in Iran. Back in 2013, a crazy road trip lead two young riders from Switzerland across the Balkans and Turkey to Tehran. An hour's drive north from the smoggy metropolis, in the breathtaking heights of the Alborz mountain range, they found Dizin, a remote rusty alpine resort reminiscent of a forgotten past. Arnaud Cottet and Benoît Goncerut were met there with an unexpected welcome: a thriving snowboarding scene lead by a passionate community of riders. It was the beginning of a long and lasting friendship, prompting countless back and forth flights from Geneva to the Iranian capital. A vision was conceived: a project with the purpose to open the world's eyes to the riches of the country’s unexplored and well preserved valleys. A concept for the support of the growth of boardsports in Iran. Numerous short films, public newscasts and documentaries have sprung from such a fruitful human experience. And now, we are more than happy to present you with a special design on our Hache LTD to celebrate the strong ties of friendship, signifying the awesome success of a mad adventure!

Giroscope is an artist from the city of Lausanne in Switzerland, known for his dreamy universe full of weird beings, tainted by childish surrealism. Differing from his usual style, the original design here represents the Farvahar, or Zoroastrian Lion, a Persian icon symbolizing Good thoughts, Good words & Good deeds. The arabic lettering on top meens «we ride in Iran» and the one on the base says «west snowbaords». The board was specially conceived for freestyle & backcountry riders in need of a faithful guide. This is your magic carpet to help you pursue white widespread wilderness paradises in places like Iran, and far beyond.
Words by David Lambert, co-founder of WEST snowboards: IAM’s songs have been a major influence for a whole generation of snowboarders in the late 90’s — this was my generation! I remember those crazy car rides in my old Opel Corsa, driving up to the mountains with my friends and listing to that tape over and over… just getting pumped by the music and the excitement of riding! It feels like yesterday. When life gave me the opportunity to realize a dream by creating this board in collaboration with IAM, it felt like the completion of a circle. It’s a huge honor for us at WEST to issue this board. And for me, it’s already the crown jewel in my personal collection. about the artist: Simon Dufour is a tattoo artist and the co-owner of the studio «Think Tattoo» in Montreux, Switzerland. The samurai is the icon of IAM as well as their emblematic album, «l’école du micro d’argent». So it makes sense that Simon chose a warrior to represent this board.
