STEEL CASE NEXT HUB-EDUCATIONAL INSITUTION Project Description: Located in Washington D.C. Next Hub is an educational institution that provides learning resources for current students and business workers who wish to continue their learning.
Client Profile: NEXT University is a cutting-edge higher education learning institution in Washington DC. NEXT University has a mission to reach into large population urban areas to provide an alternative place for students/people of all ages to connect, explore, and engage in lifelong learning experiences; providing active and diverse educational experiences. NEXT HUB would serve to people of all ages who are enrolled in online classes, help enable adult learners with small children hoping to further their education, and be an educational opportunity for individuals currently in the workforce eager to gain additional knowledge, skills, and certifications relevant in the job market.
Site Analysis: NEXT Hub is located on 1000 F Street on the 10th and 11th Floors in Washington, D.C. 20004. The site is facing south intersecting with a one-way street (10th Street). The solar path shows the sun rising from the east side of F Street NW and setting in the westside on F Street NW. The building only has a view on the west side while the east side view is block by a building right next to it. There is a view on the southside that lets u see the shopping buildings such as Zara. There is a little view in the northside but its again covered by a building. There are many walking pedestrians due to the attraction buildings surrounding the area such as Sephora, Zara, restaurants, and a museum. There aren’t any vegetation areas but trees along the urban sidewalks, and a park which is very distant from the site. Further down the F street you’ll come across many business buildings whether its retail, restaurants, entertainment, or even government building’s. And surrounding some government buildings they’ll have greenery such as a garden or trees.
