Putting it All Together Craft Your Connection Story

Congratulations. The heavy lifting is done. The most important stage of story crafting is gathering intel to write your story. Put it together to create your Connection Story (cs).
Structure Your Details
Now that you have gathered your details, recap what you have.
w + y = pp
w What it is/what it does y Why it matters to the world
bp = Buyer’s Pain/Desire
As It Relates to Your Product
—75—
sp = s (cg) b
Seller Profile = Common Ground between Seller and Buyer
Put all the data together to create your cs—Connection Story.
bp + pp + sp = cs
You already have more details you need. You just stocked your pantry. You can write lots of cool stories with all this information about your product and your buyer, but we only want to make one thing right now—one story—to serve one specific purpose—to sell one thing to one buyer. This is your Connection Story.
You could probably find the details you need right now and plug them into the formula (bp + pp + sp = cs). Maybe you’re already done. Have fun. We’ll see you later. But if you’re sitting there stumped, let’s put this together in a way that makes sense.
We’ll use my handy dandy Speech Structure System. You don’t have to write a speech, (unless you want to. If you are a speaker, you can use this technique if you’re struggling to define your core content.). Your Connection Story will follow the same concept.
My Speech Structure Template walks you through setting up your story to accomplish what you need to accomplish in a logical order. The Speech Structure answers some basic questions like:
Who am I? Why am I here? What is the problem we face? How did I experience that problem What solution do I have to offer?
