Duties and Responsibilities:
In order to respond with a sense of urgency and to better serve the community, the fire department must keep facilities, apparatus and equipment maintained, inspected, safe and ready to respond. We accomplish this through several department-wide initiatives:
Apparatus inspection program Replaced vehicle extrication tools on aerial
trucks Placed rescue tools on all paramedic
pumpers Replaced rescue air bags on aerial trucks
Apparatus and Ambulance Replacement Plan:
100% Replacement of ambulances
60% Replacement of paramedic pumpers
75% Replacement of aerial trucks
Purchased pneumatic struts for aerial
trucks Developed a replacement plan for all
equipment New daily uniforms 12
Apparatus Management Equipment Management Facilities Management Grant Management Property Room Services: Responsible for supplying the department with all the necessary items to operate on a daily basis including EMS supplies and medications, fire station supplies, tools, uniforms, protective clothing and equipment for 318 personnel and eleven fire stations.
