how much paint do I need?

To avoid unnecessary wastage or running out of paint, it’s always useful to try and roughly work out how much paint you need. Either use our paint calculator at www.johnstonespaint.com or use the following simple calculation:

• Measure the wall you want to paint. • Multiply height x length to ﬁnd out m2.

(Remember to deduct the area for any doors and windows)

• Look at the back of the can of paint for the symbol which will tell you how many square metres can be covered. Don’t forget some jobs such as newly plastered walls may require additional coats.
