A Day in Kanturk Mart

There really is a buzz on Mart day. You see some real characters, all there to buy or sell with the constant rap of the auctioneers hammer heard throughout the day. It gets the blood flowing. Tadhg Curtin made a trip there for the September 6th Show Sale. You can see Seamus with his grandson, Charlie Corkery, holding a Fat Stock trophy. Then there was the premier and reserve champions with Tom Murphy, Rockchapel receiving first prize and Thomas Linehan, Mountcollins receiving second prize. Joan’s Cafe located within the mart was bustling with customers. Joan is pictured with Joe Moran. Patsy O’ Brien pays his bill to Mary Ryan. As manager Seamus interacts with the people in the mart, below he is with Demot McCarthy and Paddy O’Sullivan. And two veterans at the passout for the animals: Dan Horan and Michael Reidy. And like that, the final belt of the auctioneer’s hammer and it’s done. Onto the next Tuesday!
