Ballyhass Ireland’s Fittest School

Ballyhass NS celebrated an outstanding achievement as they secured second place in the Fyffes ‘Ireland’s Fittest School’ Final. The pupils’ journey began in January with the Fyffes Fit Squad Challenge, committing to 15 minutes of exercise every morning, involving the entire school community.

This dedication propelled Ballyhass to the top four schools on the leaderboard, earning them a spot in the final held at Sports Campus Ireland on Friday, May 24th. Eight children represented the school, competing in various races and events, showcasing their fitness and teamwork. The teachers also joined in the excitement, participating in a relay race. The event was further highlighted by the presence of Irish athletes and Olympians Phil Healy and David Gillick, who led the competition and inspired the young participants with their enthusiasm and support.
