Kanturk Town Centre Improvements To Come

Cllr Bernard Moynihan was joined by Michael Lynch, Patricia Liddy, and Kevin Morey, to launch the Town Centre Initiative in Kanturk. The initiative is one for towns of all sizes that aims to support growth and improvement while acknowledging the uniqueness and diversity of individual township needs.

Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys said of the initiative:

“This is all about tackling vacancy, combating, dereliction, and breathe new life into our town centres. Through this initiative, we are recognising the importance of having vibrant towns, places to live in, work in, visit, and raise a family in.”

Towns are acknowledged as being key social, recreational, and cultural hubs, and creating viable spaces that encourage

participation, enjoyment, and longevity in residents is vital to their survival.
