Fr. Ferris’s History Book Launches Limited Print-Run
Teach Íosagáin in Rathmore was lán go doras on Friday 5th April for the launch by Seán Kelly MEP of Fr Ferris’s History of the Parishes of Rathmore, Gneeveguilla, and Knocknagree, edited and published recently by Brendan McCarthy, funded by LEADER.
Among the attendees were Bishop of Kerry Ray Browne, Professor Bernard O’Donoghue of Oxford University and Cullen, journalist and author Dónal Hickey, Aogán Ó h’Iarlaithe, editor of The Duhallow Journal and, in a nice
link between past and present, the evening was rounded off by noted Kerry uilleann piper Stephen Scales playing Domhnall A Phúmpa’s Reel composed by the old Gneeveguilla piper Domhnall Ó Fúmpa.
