At The Heart of Their Community

“We are absolutely delighted to be finalists in the Best Community Enterprise category. I am so proud of the amazing team at Cairdeas Childcare who put everything into the high quality care and education of each and every child attending our facility. This is a fantastic achievement for us.”

Manager Cathy Lonergan with Maggie Walshe, Tracey Fitzgerald, Darragh, and Kiera
Cairdeas opened their doors in September 2006, and since then they’ve set the standard for child care.
Their team of 28 highly qualified staff are dedicated to making every day their kids best day. The crew’s ethos stresses equality, safety, and encouragement; “Happy children, happy caring staff, happy parents, positive interactions.” This focus extends to child and parent alike.

Cairdeas Childcare was purpose built and opened in 2006
For parents are guardians there is an open door policy; they may call to the facility unannounced and observe their child.
Most impressively, they boast a menu of home cooked style fresh meals complete with snacks, prepared on site by their chef daily. This menu is compiled in conjunction with the HSE, and regularly changes. There’s a variety of textures, flavours, colours and cultures in each meal, and it adjusts based on responses. Accommodations are made for health religion and culture. Their days are full of balanced, stimulating fun, and they focus on supporting the learning and development of each child. They have an active voluntary board of directors, and work closely with Ballyhass National School to make the transition from their
services to Junior Infants. The staff strive to make childcare more accessible and affordable - their service fees haven’t increased since 2019 - and their skill sets are ever expanding to support the needs of children, as well as benefit staff and parents alike.
