Millstreet Community School

MCS is 50! Millstreet Community School has been serving the community for fifty years, and is going from strength to strength. This long tradition has been constantly evolving to meet the requirements of students in a fastchanging world. We will be looking back on this proud tradition at our celebration in the school on December 1st, where past and present students will wander down memory lane with Marty Morrissey, along with lots of music and song with special guests including Niamh Kavanagh, who obviously has great memories of Millstreet. Limited tickets so get your tickets in the school or in local shops. It promises to be a memorable night.

An Integration Workshop was facilitated for the First Year group, with the theme ‘We Are All Equal But Different!’ First Year students experienced a fun and lively Integration Workshop with plenty activities and games to get everyone involved and have their opinion heard. Students learned about power dynamics, personal choice and its impact. Learning through games allowed students to play with complex and sometimes difficult topics in a way that left them engaged with each other, laughing and energised and acutely aware that we are all equal but different.

The First Years and their families were welcomed to the First Year Mass, and thanks to all the First Years who participated so well at this

event. Everyone got a chance to meet afterwards with light refreshments in the canteen. Thanks also to the school musicians for helping to make the occasion so special.
