Duhallow Villages Scoop Up Victories in 2025 Tidy Towns Anti-Litter Challenge

Several villages in the Duhallow region scooped top honours in the 2025 Tidy Towns Anti-Litter Challenge, hosted by Cork County Council.

After a rigorous six-week judging period from late April to early June, the results were announced at celebratory ceremonies. The awards were presented in County Hall, Clonakilty and Mallow on Wednesday, the 23rd of July.

Among the standout performers were four Duhallow villages that demonstrated their commitment to cleanliness:

Knocknagree emerged as the 1st place winner in the Small Villages category

Banteer secured 2nd place in the Large Villages category Castlemagner followed closely behind, taking 2nd place in the Small Villages category Boherbue proudly claimed 3rd place in the Large Villages category

The cleanest villages in the county were presented with their awards before the July Divisional Committee meetings following another successful Anti-Litter Challenge competition run by Cork County Council.

These achievements are a testament to the tireless efforts of the Tidy Towns groups and their volunteers. From early morning litter picks to year round beautification projects, thank you for your tireless work and making our towns shine.
