Straits of Malacca

The country’s most historically famous state began with the arrival of a Sumatran Indian Prince known as Parameswara at its shores, around 1396 A.D. The Melaka Sultanate under his reign grew to become one of the greatest trading empires of the era, attracting traders from China, India, Middle East and Europe. The Europeans coveted Melaka so much that successive colonial powers held it for centuries, which helped to transform this colony into a global potpourri of cultures it is today. The city centre of Melaka is listed as one of UNESCO Heritage Sites besides Georgetown in Penang, for its impressive historical buildings and architecture on 7th July 2008. Treat yourself at the Biossential Puri Spa. It offers heavenly spa treatments amidst soothing ambience, leaving you wanting for more!

Melaka, due to its richness in cultural and historical site has been nominated and listed as a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO since 7th July 2008.
