Using a laser particle counter, we take 3 indoor particle readings and average them. Using a laser particle counter, we take 3 outdoor particle readings and average them. Then we divide the indoor average reading by the outdoor average reading. IQAir considers good air quality in a home to typically contain only one-fourth (25%) the particle pollution as outdoor air.

Dust Mites: Size: 0.05 – 25 microns. House dust mites are considered to be the most common cause of asthma and allergic symptoms worldwide. They thrive in warm, humid, dark conditions such as mattresses, carpets, sheets, pillows, and upholstery. Common Bacteria: Size: 0.1–10 microns. Common bacteria are found in many homes and can circulate through your ventilation system and thrive in close tight areas. Bacteria can cause respiratory infections and other diseases that can negatively affect your health.
Mold / Fungus: Size: 1–75 microns. Mold and fungus are commonly found in most homes and may be found in the air ducts of your heating/cooling system. They tend to float throughout the house, and form new colonies where they land. Fungus spores have been known to increase the chances of developing asthma.
