eknos is involved in the project called Recompose to identify the possibilities for exploiting the production side streams of one industrial manufacturer as raw material in another manufacturer’s product, in line with circular economy principles (Fig. 1). The project is being carried out in cooperation with three Finnish raw material manufacturers and seven other industrial producers. The institutions responsible for the project are VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Finnish Environment Institute, and Lappeenranta University of Technology, and the project is financed by Business Finland.

eknos è coinvolta nel progetto Recompose, che identifica la possibilità di sfruttare i sottoprodotti industriali come materia prima per un altro prodotto, in linea con i principi dell’economia circolare (fig. 1). Il progetto si sta svolgendo in collaborazione con tre produttori finlandesi di materie prime e altri sette produttori industriali. Le istituzioni responsabili del progetto sono il VVT Technical Research Center Of Finland, il Finnish Environment Institute e la Lappeenranta University of Technology, ed è finanziato da Business Finland.
One man’s waste is another man’s raw material

The project is driven by the desire to find beneficial use for industrial production side streams which are currently processed as waste. The aim is to commercialize and utilize the material to boost the circular economy. Another important objective for the project is to find new, recycled raw materials suitable for commercial composite products. New raw materials would be used to further develop composite products made of recycled materials. These 1 new materials are expected to improve product properties, such as strength, lightness, or visual appearance. Teknos is involved in the project with a by-product of powder coating manufacturing, currently incinerated in order to generate energy. Teknos has established also its own internal working group to enhance the material efficiency of production. At the Teknos factory in Poland, research has been carried out on utilising the side streams of powder coating production in Teknos’ own products, with positive results. “Teknos uses its products to prolong product and material lifetime while studying new applications of renewable raw
Il progetto è guidato dal desiderio di trovare utilizzi vantaggiosi per i sottoprodotti manifatturieri, attualmente processati come scarti. Lo scopo è commercializzare e utilizzare il materiale per dare impulso all’economia circolare. Un altro importante obiettivo del progetto è trovare nuove materie prime riciclate adatte per prodotti commerciali compositi. Nuove materie prime sarebbero utilizzate per sviluppare ulteriormente prodotti compositi in materiale riciclato. Si prevede che questi © Teknos nuovi materiali miglioreranno alcune proprietà dei prodotti come resistenza, leggerezza o aspetto visivo. Teknos è coinvolta nel progetto con un sottoprodotto del processo produttivo di vernici in polvere, attualmente incenerito per produrre energia. Teknos ha inoltre creato un gruppo di lavoro interno per migliorare l’efficienza energetica della produzione. Presso il suo stabilimento in Polonia è stata effettuata una ricerca su come riutilizzare i sottoprodotti della produzione di vernice in polvere nei suoi stessi prodotti, con risultati positivi. “Teknos utilizza i suoi sottoprodotti per prolungare il ciclo
