IE Srl (Compagnia Italiana Ecologia) was founded in 1981 and is currently a leading company in the treatment of waste water from metal finishing processes. It has recently realized a zero liquid discharge plant (ZLD) at the premises of ELVAL S.A., a Greek leader in the aluminium coil production. The system installed cleans and recirculates 750 m3/day of water from the whole plant (Fig. 1). The technical staff of the Greek multinational company is so pleased with this investment that, in January 2013, following the installation of a new treatment line, they decided to further improve the purification process of the liquid from the coil treatment. The waste water comes from the entire production chain. The system collects blow downs from the cooling towers, foundry’s water and acidic water from the coil treatment.

IE Srl, Compagnia Italiana Ecologia (fondata nel 1981), azienda leader nella depurazione acque provenienti da Metal Finishing, ha realizzato l’impianto a scarico liquido zero (ZLD) presso ELVAL S.A., colosso greco della produzione coil da alluminio. L’impianto installato depura e ricicla 750 m3/giorno di acqua proveniente da tutto lo stabilimento (fig. 1). Soddisfatto lo staff tecnico della multinazionale greca che nel gennaio 2013 ha deciso di potenziare la depurazione delle acque provenienti da trattamento coil per far fronte all’inserimento di una nuova linea di trattamento. Le acque in depurazione provengono da tutta la filiera produttiva. L’impianto raccoglie blow down di cooling towers, acque di fonderia e acque acide da trattamento coil.
