ikes’ production is one of the several examples of industrial excellence that Veneto can be proud of: Many of the most prestigious brands, known to racing bike’s and mountain bike’s fans, have their production site in Veneto’s provinces. Here they produce cutting edge and super light bikes, with aesthetically impeccable finishes, whose colours and effects are often borrowed from the cars’ sector (Fig. 1). Painting a bike is an highly technological operation but has some characteristics of the handicraft production: Carbon materials (Fig. 2) or super light alloys must be treated by very experienced specialists, with proper manual skills and up to date with the latest innovations concerning application equipment and painting products. For these reasons bikes’ finishing operations are often devolved upon specialist sub-contractors. Lumar Colors from Borcoricco (PD) is one of them: It carries out the whole finishing process that starts with the design of graphics and personalised logos and ends with the application of the different paints solutions. A production process structured around meticulous operations makes Lumar Colors solutions unique in their kind. The company, during a 20-year activity, has endowed itself with the most recent industrial technologies in order to provide the quality level and attention for detail that made it different from its competitors, standing out as a privileged

ra le tante eccellenze industriali che il Veneto può vantare vi è anche quella del ciclo: molti dei marchi più rinomati per gli appassionati di bici da corsa e di mountain bike hanno il proprio sito produttivo nelle province venete. Qui, producono biciclette all’avanguardia, super-leggere e con finiture esteticamente ineccepibili, con colori ed effetti spesso derivati dal settore auto (fig. 1). La verniciatura delle biciclette è un’operazione altamente tecnologica ma con caratteristiche di artigianalità: i materiali in carbonio (fig. 2) o leghe super leggere devono essere trattati da specialisti dotati di grande esperienza, manualità ma anche delle ultime innovazioni in tema di apparecchiature applicative e di prodotto verniciante. Per questo la finitura delle biciclette è spesso demandata a terzisti specializzati. Lumar Colors di Borcoricco (PD) è uno di questi: al suo interno svolge l’intero processo di finitura, che inizia dalla progettazione della grafica e dei loghi personalizzati fino alle diverse soluzioni per la verniciatura.
