Anyone with a few years’ experience in the industry will be familiar with the problem of effectively combating tank corrosion. Shipowners have always struggled with various requirements for reliability, from cargo tanks to chemical tanks and bulk carriers. Within the industry you find large and small tank storage of chemicals and aggressive products that virtually “eat” the coating. In the oil and gas industry at sea, we have all types of storage and pressure tanks that are exposed to external stresses as well as large volumes of liquid such as mud, oil, corrosion inhibitors, cooling water and so on. It is often easier to do the surface treatment according to the book during the construction process and in the production of the different tanks. New sandblasted steel, cleaned of mill scale and free of grease and dirt and all corrosion products along with good access and warm, illuminated production facilities, just comply with the Norsok standard and everyone is satisfied! Chiunque abbia avuto a che fare con questo settore per qualche hanno ha familiarità con il problema di combattere efficacemente la corrosione dei serbatoi. Nel settore navale gli armatori hanno sempre faticato con svariati requisiti di affidabilità per le cisterne di carico, per i serbatoi chimici e per navi portarinfuse. Nel settore industriale si utilizzano serbatoi grandi e piccoli per lo stoccaggio di sostanze chimiche e prodotti aggressivi che “mangiano” virtualmente il rivestimento. Nel settore oil&gas offshore si utilizza invece qualsiasi tipo di serbatoio di stoccaggio e a pressione che è esposto a sollecitazioni esterne, oltre che a grandi quantità di liquidi come fango, petrolio, inibitori della corrosione, acqua di raffreddamento e così via. Spesso è più facile trattare la superficie come da manuale durante il processo costruttivo dei diversi serbatoi. Acciaio sabbiato nuovo, privo di calamina, grasso, sporco e sostanze corrosive. Impianti produttivi con una buona accessibilità, riscaldati e illuminati, in cui basta rispettare lo standard Norsok e tutti sono soddisfatti!
